May 1, 2026: Our Hood, Our Class, Fight Capitalism!

Friends, neighbors, coworkers, comrades!

Every day we work to the bone. We bend our backs, but get nothing in return: when we finally retire, all we’ll have is loneliness and barely enough money to live on.

We work for a pittance for companies whose bosses live the high life. Half our wages go to the landlord, who couldn’t care less that our apartment is moldy. To make matters worse, we may soon have to go to war again, against our siblings of our class.

Everyone notices it at work: things are supposed to go faster and faster with fewer people. Even if we work our butts off, there’s still no break! Our wages can’t be low enough, and our exploitation can’t be intense enough. The capitalists’ profits depend on it—and they hold the power because they own the means of production.

Our misery is explained to us by pointing the finger at migrants, who are supposedly to blame for everything. Racist division is deliberately promoted by politicians and the media, because they know: united, we are stronger. All our achievements – the eight-hour workday, the right to strike – were hard-won together.

But we want more than to spend our whole lives toiling for the profit of the capitalists. We want to decide for ourselves how work is done and what is produced. When profit is no longer the purpose of production, then we can work without destroying us. Then we can finish our work in less time and enjoy our free time without exhaustion. Then we can produce things we really need, and everyone will get what they need. Then we can learn to plan our own work. To achieve this, we, the working class, must take control of the means of production. We don’t need the bosses who parasitize off our labor.

Join us on the streets in Bergedorf on May 1. Show the neighborhood that there is a struggle to be fought!
